Critical press articles
A report about a dispute or an investigation ranks for your name long after it was resolved. Some can be challenged, others need to be suppressed.
Switzerland is not in the EU and has its own rules on personality rights, defamation and data protection. We remove what is removable at the source, suppress what is not and rebuild what people find when they search your name.
Get a free assessmentIn Switzerland, clients, banks, partners and boards expect discretion. When they search your name and find a critical article, a forum thread or a misleading summary, the first impression is set before you can explain it.
Switzerland is one of the countries where we actively work. Online reputation management in Switzerland starts from Swiss law, not EU law: the Civil Code protects personality rights, the Criminal Code covers defamation and the revised Federal Act on Data Protection applies instead of the GDPR.
Several sources raise concerns about [Your Name], citing complaints1 and disputed claims2.
The details differ by case, but these situations come up again and again.

The same name can show different results depending on the search language and the version of Google used. A clean page one in one search does not mean the same in every search.
Leaders whose name is searched before every board seat, deal or hire, and who cannot afford a damaging page one.
Threads with false claims or old complaints rank well and are often the first thing prospects see.
Private details, sensitive information or photos shared without consent. Swiss data protection law treats some of these disclosures as a breach of personality rights.
Google’s AI Overviews and AI assistants repeat what ranks. When the sources are thin or negative, the summary about you is too.

Under Article 28 of the Swiss Civil Code, anyone whose personality rights are unlawfully infringed can ask the court for protection against all those causing the infringement, unless it is justified by consent, an overriding interest or law. Article 28a lets the court prohibit a threatened infringement, order an existing one to stop and have the rectification or judgment notified to third parties or published. [1]
Article 173 of the Swiss Criminal Code punishes accusing someone, when addressing a third party, of dishonorable conduct or other conduct likely to damage their reputation. In most cases the defendant escapes a penalty by proving the statement true or that they had substantial grounds to believe it in good faith. Knowingly false accusations under Article 174 carry up to three years in prison. Both are prosecuted on complaint, and under Article 31 the complaint must be filed within three months of learning who is responsible. [2]
Switzerland is not in the EU and applies its own Federal Act on Data Protection, in force in its revised form since 1 September 2023. Processing personal data against a person’s express wishes or disclosing sensitive data to third parties is in principle a breach of personality rights, unless justified by consent, an overriding interest or law. [3]
Under Article 32 of the Data Protection Act, you can ask for incorrect personal data to be corrected and ask a court to prohibit a processing activity or a disclosure, or to order the data deleted. When accuracy cannot be established, the data can be marked as disputed, and the outcome can be communicated to third parties or published. [3]

Switzerland is not in the EU and applies its own Federal Act on Data Protection. It gives you rights to have incorrect data corrected and to ask a court to stop a processing or disclosure, or to have the data deleted. We choose the route based on Swiss law and on the rules of the platform that hosts the content.
It can. Under the Civil Code, a court can order an unlawful infringement of personality rights to stop and protect you against those causing it. Court action takes time and cost, so we usually start with platform rules and direct outreach, and you should speak with a Swiss lawyer before filing.
Removals depend on the platform and the grounds, and your assessment gives a realistic estimate for each link. Suppression is an SEO-driven process: many results move within a few months, while deeply entrenched content takes longer.
Accurate reporting that is justified by an overriding public interest is hard to challenge, and not every negative review can come down. When removal is not possible, we suppress the result by ranking stronger, accurate content above it.
