Data broker opt-out

FastPeopleSearch Opt-Out: How to Remove Your Listing

FastPeopleSearch is a free people search site that builds profiles from publicly available records and data suppliers, with names, current and past addresses, phone numbers and relatives. To remove a record, you request a link by email, fill in the opt-out form with details that match the record and wait for the confirmation email.

How to opt out

  1. On the opt-out page, choose whether you are the subject of the request or an authorized agent, enter your name and email address, complete the captcha and click "SUBMIT"; the form asks you to authorize emails about your request and to certify that you are the subject or an authorized agent.

  2. Open the email with the link to the opt-out form; it may take some time to arrive, and if you wait more than 24 hours to click it you will need to request a new one.

What it asks you to verify

You confirm the request through the link sent to your email address. The privacy notice states that opt-out requests do not require identity verification; requests to know, delete or correct are verified by matching two or three data points you provide, such as name, email address or phone number.

FastPeopleSearch asks you to allow 3 days for the record to be fully removed from the site.

What the opt-out covers

The opt-out applies to the record that matches the details you enter. FastPeopleSearch warns that leaving out information or giving inaccurate details will hinder the opt-out, and asks for the whole form to be completed so it can remove all your information from the site.

If your listing comes back

FastPeopleSearch says it will try to apply an opt-out to the publicly available information it collects as a courtesy, but this does not remove the data from its original source. Because it regularly receives new public records, your information may appear again in its data products, and it recommends refreshing your opt-out request periodically.

Privacy rights you can use

Depending on your state, you can ask to know, delete or correct your personal information through its privacy request page or by phone at (866) 679-8725, and appeal a decision through the privacy request page or the same number. FastPeopleSearch notes that its data products use publicly available information, which U.S. state privacy laws do not cover.

When to get help

When to get help

Opting out of one site rarely clears every listing: the same records appear on sister sites and new profiles can appear later. Media Removal handles data broker removal for executives, public figures, family offices and companies, and reviews each case before recommending a route.
