Data broker opt-out

Intelius Opt-Out: How to Remove Your Listing

Intelius compiles publicly available information from third-party sources into Background Reports that its users can access. Its opt-out page sends you to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center, a free tool that hides your Background Report from name searches on Intelius and sister sites such as TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate and US Search.

Official opt-out page: intelius.com

How to opt out

  1. Go to the PeopleConnect Suppression Center (the Intelius opt-out page redirects there), enter your email address, agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy and click "Continue".

What the opt-out covers

Suppression stops your Background Report from being shown when someone searches your name on PeopleConnect people search sites, including TruthFinder.com, InstantCheckmate.com, Intelius.com and USSearch.com. It does not cover user data or Classmates.com, and your name and other details may still appear in phone, address or email reports or on registered sex offender lists.

If your listing comes back

PeopleConnect says suppression does not affect the third-party sources of the information, and that discrepancies in public records may make it hard to remove everything. If you still see public data about you after suppressing your report, it asks you to contact privacy@intelius.com.

Privacy rights you can use

Intelius states that, as a registered data broker, it must process deletion requests sent through California's DROP platform, but DROP does not apply to publicly available information, so it also recommends using its Privacy Center to suppress public data. From October 1, 2026, Connecticut residents can ask by email to delete publicly available information compiled into a consumer profile. Deleting the user data Intelius collects from its users does not suppress your Background Report.

When to get help

When to get help

Opting out of one site rarely clears every listing: the same records appear on sister sites and new profiles can appear later. Media Removal handles data broker removal for executives, public figures, family offices and companies, and reviews each case before recommending a route.
