Trustpilot alternatives: the short answer
REVIEWS.io and Feefo are options for collecting customer feedback. SmartCustomer combines a public review directory with collection tools. Google Business Profile and Yelp serve local businesses, while G2 focuses on software users. The right choice depends on who your customers are, what they are reviewing, and how you want to collect their feedback.
These platforms serve different purposes. A local listing is not the same product as a review collection service. Changing where you collect new reviews also does not delete your existing Trustpilot profile or its reviews. Start with the use cases below, then check each provider’s current terms against your business requirements.
Six alternatives by business use case
REVIEWS.io: collecting reviews after a transaction
Consider REVIEWS.io if your team wants to request feedback after customers buy a product or service. Its consumer FAQ explains that businesses send invitations and publish reviews on a public company page and their own website.
- Who can review: customers invited by email or SMS receive a Verified Buyer label. Some businesses also allow direct submissions, initially shown as unverified until proof of purchase is checked.
- What to watch: collecting reviews does not give you control over criticism. Removal requests go through moderation; a negative rating alone is not grounds for removal.
See the REVIEWS.io directory entry. For a closer comparison of the two providers, read REVIEWS.io vs. Trustpilot.
Feefo: feedback linked to purchases
Consider Feefo when linking feedback to an actual purchase matters to your review process. Feefo describes its collection model as gathering feedback confirmed as coming from purchases from participating businesses.
- Who can review: Feefo sends feedback requests after purchases. Its consumer guidance also allows a purchaser who has not received a request after more than four weeks to leave feedback themselves.
- What to watch: verified purchasing does not guarantee positive feedback. Feefo moderation uses defined removal grounds, rather than removing a review because it seems unfair.
Read the Feefo directory entry for the verified collection and reporting rules.
SmartCustomer: reviews of online businesses
SmartCustomer, the site that Sitejabber now redirects to, is an option for online retailers and other businesses seeking a public review presence alongside collection tools.
- Who can review: consumers can submit independently or through invitations. Its published verification process requires proof of purchase or a matching customer record for submissions from February 2026.
- What to watch: a profile is created when the first review arrives, without the business needing to opt in. Claiming it provides basic free tools, not control over ratings or review content.
See the SmartCustomer directory entry.
Google Business Profile: eligible local businesses
Consider Google Business Profile for a business with a location customers visit or a team that travels to customers. Google says eligible businesses can add or claim a profile at no charge and appear on Search and Maps.
- Who can review: signed-in Google Maps users can publish reviews of places they have visited.
- What to watch: eligibility rules matter. This is not a general replacement for an online-only business’s review collection service. Through its review-reporting process, Google removes reviews that violate its policies.
See the Google Business Profile directory entry. Treat it as a local presence decision, rather than assuming it replaces every part of Trustpilot.
Yelp: consumer experiences with local businesses
Yelp is another channel to consider for restaurants, shops, home services, and other local businesses. Its review rules differ from platforms built around customer invitations.
- Who can review: Yelp’s Content Guidelines require reviews to focus on the writer’s own consumer experience and prohibit conflicts of interest.
- What to watch: Yelp says businesses should not ask customers to write reviews. Do not apply an invitation campaign designed for another platform to Yelp.
Read the Yelp directory entry for its verified profile and reporting rules.
G2: software reviewed by business users
Consider G2 if you sell software used professionally. Its focus is the experience of business users, rather than general consumer feedback about any type of company.
- Who can review: G2 validates reviewers through LinkedIn, business email, or accepted alternatives such as personal email with a screenshot. It also checks product experience.
- What to watch: a seller can report concerns, but G2’s Community Guidelines govern publication and removal. A product listing is not a way to select only favorable opinions.
See the G2 directory entry. For other software platforms, use the wider review sites directory.
What to check before choosing a platform
Shortlist platforms against the job your team needs to do:
- Audience and eligibility. Check whether the platform covers your business and the experiences your customers have.
- Review collection. Confirm who may publish, what verification means, and whether invitations are allowed.
- Public presence. Establish whether a public profile can exist without your participation and what claiming it changes.
- Moderation. Read the reporting grounds, evidence requirements, and appeal process before you need them.
- Commercial terms. Ask for the current scope, billing terms, cancellation conditions, and any required features in writing.

What happens to your Trustpilot profile if you switch?
Moving your review collection elsewhere does not remove your Trustpilot page. Trustpilot’s business guidelines say the profile remains visible even if you have not claimed it, and that it does not remove a business profile or its reviews unless it has to.
Treat three decisions separately: choosing where to collect future feedback, deciding which business tools you need, and addressing specific content already published. A different provider does not decide what Trustpilot keeps online. Do not assume that ending a commercial relationship removes a public profile or guarantees its disappearance from search results.
Can another platform remove your Trustpilot reviews?
Signing up elsewhere is not a removal route. A review that breaches Trustpilot’s guidelines can be flagged for assessment. Disagreeing with a reviewer, or receiving a low rating, does not by itself establish a violation.
If your company has a specific review or profile concern, our Trustpilot review removal service and Trustpilot profile service explain the separate work involved. Frequently asked questions
Which Trustpilot alternative should an ecommerce business consider?
REVIEWS.io and Feefo are options for collecting feedback linked to customer transactions. SmartCustomer combines a public directory with review collection tools. Compare their verification rules, public profile arrangements, and current commercial terms against your workflow.
Is Google Business Profile an alternative to Trustpilot?
For an eligible local business, it is another place customers can find and review the business. Google requires a location customers can visit or a business that travels to customers. It serves a different purpose from a general review collection service.
Which alternative is relevant to software companies?
G2 focuses on reviews from business users of software and related services. It checks reviewer identity and experience. Its scope makes it relevant to software vendors, rather than a general replacement for every business.
Are there free alternatives to Trustpilot?
Eligible businesses can add or claim a Google Business Profile at no charge. SmartCustomer offers free profile claiming and basic tools. Free access does not mean every feature is included or that the business controls its reviews.
Will switching platforms delete my Trustpilot profile or negative reviews?
No. Choosing a different provider does not delete the existing Trustpilot profile or reviews. Trustpilot says profiles can remain visible without being claimed. Requests about individual reviews must be assessed separately under its rules.
