"Is this startup a scam?" threads
A Reddit thread with a doubt in the title ranks for your brand and shows up in sales and investor conversations. We handle it through Reddit’s own channels or push it down.
In San Francisco, investors, candidates and customers search a founder before they reply. We start with the Reddit threads, Glassdoor reviews and AI answers that come up in those conversations and fix each one at its source.
Get a free assessmentSan Francisco’s growth is being driven by the AI investment boom, according to the city’s own economists. In that market, a founder’s name and a startup’s brand get checked at every step: the first investor call, the offer letter, the enterprise security review. A Reddit thread, a cluster of angry Glassdoor reviews or an old story about a failed company can stall a round or a hire without anyone telling you why.
The same people now ask ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini before they ask a mutual contact. Those assistants summarize the sources that rank, so the answer about you is only as accurate as page one. We work with founders and companies in San Francisco and across the United States, and we start with what each platform and California law actually allow.
Several sources raise concerns about [Your Name], citing complaints1 and disputed claims2.
Most cases start with one result that keeps coming up in calls. These are the patterns we see most.

A restructuring brings a wave of reviews, some honest and some fake or abusive. Honest reviews about working conditions are protected; reviews that break Glassdoor’s guidelines can be reported and taken down.
Posts that claim to come from former employees or co-founders and state false facts about fraud, misconduct or the product.
An assistant describes your company by an old pivot, a lawsuit that was dismissed or a competitor’s talking points, because that is what ranks.
People-search listings and posts that publish where a founder lives, often after a public dispute or a viral launch.
Articles about a shutdown or a down round keep ranking above everything you have built since.
What follows is general information on California law, not legal advice. Media Removal is not a law firm, and for a lawsuit or an employment matter you should speak with a licensed California attorney.
Labor Code section 232.5 says an employer may not require, as a condition of employment, that an employee refrain from disclosing information about the employer’s working conditions, may not make an employee sign a waiver of that right and may not discipline or discriminate against an employee for those disclosures. It does not let an employee disclose trade secrets, proprietary or privileged information without consent. The section governs employers, not review sites, but it means a company cannot use contracts or discipline to keep staff quiet about the workplace. Our Glassdoor work targets fake, abusive or policy-breaking reviews, not honest accounts of working conditions. [1]
California’s Civil Code defines libel as a false and unprivileged publication in writing, pictures or another fixed form that harms a person’s reputation or occupation, which includes online posts. The U.S. Supreme Court has held that statements that cannot reasonably be read as stating actual facts are protected. “I would not work here again” is opinion; “the founder stole investor money” is a factual claim that can be tested. Our California defamation law guide covers the rest. [2] [3]
The California Consumer Privacy Act gives consumers the right to ask a business to delete personal information it collected from them, subject to exceptions that include the exercise of free speech. Under the Delete Act, the California Privacy Protection Agency had to set up a single deletion mechanism, and beginning August 1, 2026, data brokers must access it at least once every 45 days and process the deletion requests it contains. We explain how it works in our guide to the Delete Act. [4] [5]
Penal Code section 653.2 makes it a misdemeanor to electronically post someone’s personal identifying information without consent, with intent to place them in reasonable fear for their safety and to cause harassment or harm by others. Since January 1, 2025, Civil Code section 1708.89 also lets a person doxed in that way sue for damages, including statutory damages of $1,500 to $30,000. [6] [7]
The San Francisco Controller’s Office of Economic Analysis reported in August 2026 that second quarter data point to the city entering an accelerating period of economic growth, primarily driven by the AI investment boom, and that office leasing has picked up, largely due to AI. The same report notes that overall tech employment is growing only modestly and that most of the city’s job gains over the past year came in health care and tourism. [8]
For founders, removal and AI work usually go together, because assistants repeat whatever ranks.
Threads that come up in investor and sales calls removed through moderators, admins or legal channels, or outranked when they cannot come down.
Unfair, fake or policy-breaking Glassdoor reviews taken down at the source.
We correct the sources ChatGPT reads, so investors and candidates get an accurate, current answer about your company.
The same work for Claude: what it says about your company, and the sources behind it.
Coverage of a shutdown or a down round pushed off page one by accurate, authoritative content.
A panel for the founder or the company, built, claimed and kept accurate.
The same search for your name or business before and after we act on what ranks in San Francisco.
Coverage of [Your Name] is dominated by complaints and a disputed story.
[Your Name] is described accurately, with verified sources and recent positive coverage leading the result.
Investors and candidates search you on their own schedule, so we start with what they see first and tell you what is removable before any work begins.
Send us the founder and company names and the links that come up in calls. We answer within one business day.
In week one you get a written strategy: each Google result and AI answer, the platform rule or legal route that applies and what has to be suppressed instead.
We act on the sources first, then align profiles, press and structured data so the right pages define the brand.
We track branded search, Glassdoor and AI answers and react when something new appears.

Send your questionYour free assessment prices each item, because a Glassdoor review, a Reddit thread and a set of AI answers are different jobs. For content removal, you are billed only when the URL is verified offline, with no retainer and no setup fee. For AI answers, we agree the target answers up front and you pay for the outcomes we actually land. For ongoing reputation management, the first month is contingent on the strategy we deliver in week one. If you do not see the path forward, you do not pay.
Only the ones that break Glassdoor’s rules, such as fake reviews, harassment, false statements of fact or confidential information disclosed in breach of policy. Honest criticism of the workplace usually stays up under Glassdoor’s own rules, and in California an employer also cannot require staff to stay silent about working conditions. We tell you which reviews qualify before any work begins.
We cannot edit an AI model directly, and no serious provider can promise exact wording. We correct and strengthen the sources those assistants rely on, and their answers shift as those sources change. Like suppression, that work is measured in months rather than days.
First we check whether it breaks Reddit’s rules or the law, for example by stating false facts or sharing private information. If it does, we use Reddit’s own channels to have it removed and deindexed. If it does not, we build accurate content that outranks it.
Often, yes. California residents can ask data brokers to delete their personal information, and since August 1, 2026, data brokers must check the state’s single deletion mechanism at least once every 45 days and process the requests in it. Our guide to the Delete Act explains how it works.
Yes. Every client signs an NDA, and so do we, and we share the details of the work only with the people you name.
Send us the founder and company names, the links that keep coming up and the AI answers you have seen. We review them for free and answer within one business day with what can be removed, what we suppress and a clear plan.
